The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test or NEET-UG is an entrance examination in India, for students who wish to study any graduate medical course (MBBS/ dental course (BDS) or postgraduate course (MD / MS) in government or private medical colleges in India. NEET-UG (Undergraduate), for MBBS and BDS courses, are conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).
This year CBSE has increased NEET Exam Cities from 107 cities to 150 in 2018. Forty-three new centres are added for the NEET2018 exam. For the first time, NEET exam would be conducted in 150 cities.
Many state governments have made NEET mandatory for medical admission. The single entrance exam has reduced the extra burden of students, who earlier appeared for a number of entrance exams at national and state level separately.
Apart from NEET, other major medical entrance exams are conducted by AIIMS and JIPMER.
