66 students including All India Topper from ALLEN selected for the second phase of IJSO 2017

After securing 4 gold medals in the International Junior Science Olympiad 2016, ALLEN students have now proved their excellence in the results of the first phase of IJSO 2017 too. According to the results announced, a total of 66 students from ALLEN have been selected for the second round, in which 7 students have secured ranks amongst the All India Top 10 also bagging the top most Rank.

According to the honorable Director Sh. Brijesh Maheshwari, “Indian Association of Physics Teachers (IAPT) organized the first round of IJSO known as the ‘National Standard Examination in Junior Science‘. A total of 310 students from across the country were selected for the second phase. Out of these students, 66 students are from Allen. Jeevesh of class 8 secured the All India Rank 1, followed by Subarno Nath on Rank 2, Arpit Chauhan bagged rank 3, Sarthak Gupta Rank 4, Mudita Goyal secured AIR 5, Akhil Jain secured rank 6 and Nishant Roshan stood at rank 8 in the All India Merit List.

Subarno Nath is studying at ALLEN Mumbai Center while Sarthak Gupta is from ALLEN jaipur. Out of the Top 20 All India Ranks, 11 positions have been bagged by the students of ALLEN. Not only this, the state toppers of Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Gujarat are also the students of Allen Career Institute. Out of the total students selected from ALLEN, 30 belong to the Kota center, 7 from Ahmedabad, 5 from Chandigarh, 4 each from Jaipur & Surat, 3 from Bengaluru, 1 each from Rajkot and Vadodara and 7 students from ALLEN workshop classes. Gujarat has a total of 14 selections, of which 13 are from the Allen Career Institute.

The 2nd Round

Sh. Maheshwari said that NSEJS 2016 is the first round of International Junior Science Olympiad. INJSO comprises of a total of 5 stages. After selection of the 310 students in the first phase, the second phase will be Indian National Junior Science Olympiad which will be conducted by Homi Bhabha Center for Science Education, Mumbai in which 35 students will be selected from the best of 310. Under the third phase students will be shortlisted for the Orientation Camp after which in the 4th phase, the final top 6 students will be trained in a pre-departure orientation camp. After this, these students will represent India in the final stage of the International Olympiad.
