Dr. Homi Bhabha Balvaidnyanik Competition is conducted for students of Class VI and IX Std by the ‘Greater Bombay Science Teachers’ Association since 1981. Homi Bhabha Balvaidnyanik Spardha (HBBVS) is an excellent attempt to strengthen the foundation for Science Subject among young students by motivating them towards the basic sciences as well as clearing their scientific concepts. With the Homi Bhabha exam, students gain the required confidence for taking up science stream.
The exam is found to be a way of introducing opportunities and careers in the field of science. The DHBBC is mainly based on scientific knowledge acquired by the students up to std. VI and IX. Students from all boards can apply for the competition. Every year, around 40,000 students from Maharashtra, appear for the exam.
The students are required to face the competition in three phases; Written-test, Practical and Interview session. First Phase of the competition Written-test has been successfully conducted on 5th October at various centers in Maharashtra regions.
