Continuing the winning streak, once again ALLEN Students outshine in Regional Mathematical Olympiad Result. A total of 1092 Students from all over the country are qualified for Indian National Mathematical Olympiad (INMO), the third round of International Mathematical Olympiad, out of which 128 are from ALLEN Career Institute.
71 students from ALLEN Pre-Nurture & Career Foundation (Up to Class-X) and 57 students from Class XI & XII are qualified for INMO.
111 students are from ALLEN Classroom Programme, 17 are from the Workshop Programme. Regional Mathematical Olympiad is the second round of International Mathematical Olympiad. The students who qualify RMO are eligible for Indian National Mathematical Olympiad (INMO), which is scheduled to be held on 20th January 2020.
The Mathematical Olympiad Programme in India, which leads to participation of Indian students in the International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO) is organized by the Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education (HBCSE) on behalf of the National Board for Higher Mathematics (NBHM) of the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE), Government of India. This programme is one of the major initiatives undertaken by NBHM. Its main purpose is to spot mathematical talent among pre-university students in the country.
The Mathematical Olympiad programme consists of six stages. The first stage is Pre-Regional Mathematical Olympiad, the second stage is Regional Mathematical Olympiad, the third stage is Indian National Mathematical Olympiad.
The top students from the INMO are invited for the fourth stage, the International Mathematical Olympiad Training Camp (IMOTC). At this camp, orientation is provided to students for the International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO). Emphasis is laid on developing conceptual foundations and problem-solving skills. Several selection tests are held during this camp. Based on the performance in these tests, the students are selected to represent India at the IMO.
The fifth stage is IMO Training Camp in which the selected team undergoes a rigorous training programme for about 8-10 days at HBCSE prior to the departure for the IMO. The last stage is the International Mathematical Olympiad, the Olympiad programme culminates with the participation of the students in the IMO.
