The IAS Exam, which originated in 1858 under the name of Imperial Civil Service, is a prestigious exam. The Indian Administrative Service, also known as the IAS, came into existence in 1950. In the Indian administrative system, the IAS holds the most distinguished position regarding authority and reputability compared to other posts. Every year, the responsibility of organizing the IAS exam lies with the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). Successful candidates can either be directly recruited by the Union/State government or be appointed to positions at the district level.

As an essential element of the Government of India's executive branch, the IAS is widely acknowledged as an enduring bureaucracy. Every year, the exam attracts numerous aspiring candidates from diverse backgrounds and social strata.
