AIIMS MBBS 2018 Paper analysis for the exam held on 26th May, 2018

The online exam for the country’s most prestigious medical education institute All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) MBBS 2018 was held on 26th May 2018.
The examination was in two shifts, morning from 9 am to 12.30 am and afternoon from 2 PM to 5 PM.

Sh. Brajesh Maheshwari, Director of ALLEN Career Institute, told that after the first day’s examination, on the basis of students feedback, the paper was average. The questions from physics were confusing, and students got difficulty to solve the same. Apart from this, biology and chemistry were normal.

A total of 200 questions were asked in the examination. In this, 60 questions each were asked from physics, chemistry and biology. This included 40 objective type questions and 20 question from Assertion-Reason.
20 questions were asked from general knowledge and aptitude. Each question was of one mark. On the wrong answer, there was a negative marking of one-third mark. Questions of general knowledge included current affairs, logical reasoning, riddles. There were no questions related to history. These questions included the name of Lok Sabha Speaker, Mobile Signal Recognition, meaning of IMEI number. The entire paper was opened at once on the computer screen in front of a student, in which they had an option to choose questions to solve according to their preference.

Physics

Sh. Brajesh Maheshwari said that the paper of physics was a bit difficult for the students. In this paper, the students used the screen calculator in some questions. At the same time, they had to use logic in few questions. Students also had to face some creative questions. This was more time-consuming as this paper consisted more objective type logical questions. The students who did the Conceptual study did not get any problem, the questions of Assertion-Reason were easy for them.

Biology

Students found the Biology paper very easy. The whole paper was NCERT-based. Some questions were asked through a diagram. Botany and Zoology questions were asked equally. Only a few questions were confusing

Chemistry

The difficulty level of questions in chemistry was average. The language of some questions was so confusing that students found it difficult to understand the logic to be applied. The entire paper was according to the NCERT course. Creative questions were asked from Assertion-Reason, which were time-consuming.
