NEET (Phase 1) 2016 was held on 1st May (Sunday), the Supreme Court on Saturday gave the go ahead for the first phase of the common medical entrance test i.e. NEET, to be held on Sunday. Lakhs of students appeared for the entrance test, which will open the gates for their admission to MBBS and BDS colleges across the country. There was defined dress code for the students with no mobile phones allowed in the exam hall.

The paper of AIPMT/NEET Phase 1 was as per the syllabus. Moreover this year the paper was average as per the previous year.
Biology : Out of 90 questions in Biology there were 10 questions asked out of NCERT syllabus this year. Talking about Zoology there were 10 questions which seems tough out of 28 and in Botany out of 62 questions 4 were with high difficulty level. In Biology 1 question was asked on macronutrients in which all the four given options were wrong. Students should get bonus mark for this question. Two questions were wrongly translated in Hindi section which made students gloomy while solving the paper.
Physics: Due to most of the numerical based questions NEET’s Physics section seemed tough to solve. 50% of the questions were asked from 12th Class and 50% of the questions were asked from 11th Class. 2 questions were framed poorly that made students blue while understanding and solving the questions. There were 2 to 3 questions with wrong answers in physics section. In short the paper can be asked as an average paper.
