ALLEN’s Dhyey Sankalp Gandhi Tops the Nation at International Chemistry Olympiad

After winning 4 Gold Medals at the International Junior Science Olympiad, now ALLEN shines at the International Chemistry Olympiad too!

In the first round of the Olympiad which is held at national level namely National Standard Examination in Chemistry (NSEC), Dhyey Sankalp Gandhi from ALLEN has scored the maximum points. According to the Director Sh. Brijesh Maheshwari, more than 30 thousand students from across the country participated in this examination, in which only 373 students have been selected to appear in the second round. 54 students from these 373, belong to ALLEN Career Institute alone. Moreover, ALLEN’s classroom programme student Dhyey Sankalp Gandhi has scored the maximum points i.e. 213 who is still studying in class 10th. “Where, generally students from classes 11^th and 12^th participate in this examination, Dhyey bagging the top position, leaving the senior students behind, are a proud moment for the Institute” says Sh Maheshwari. This test includes the syllabus of organic, inorganic, physical and biochemistry of class 11^th and 12^th level.

Desire to pursue research

Despite of being just in Class 10^th, Dhyey  who has surpassed the students of 11^th and 12^th aspires to do research. In his own words, “I completed the syllabus of my 10^th class beforehand following which I started focusing on Chemistry. With the help of extra studies, I prepared for competing against the senior classes. My goal is to study from MIT (USA) after completing my undergrad from IIT. Currently I am preparing for Chemistry Olympiad and I am sure to win a medal for my country. My family is my support system where my mother Mrs. Manisha Gandhi stays with me at Kota and my Father is is a businessman who is in Vadodara along with my grandparents.”

What next?

Sh. Maheshwari said that this was the first round of the International Chemistry Olympiad -2017. There are a total of 5 stages. After the selection of 373 students in the first phase, the second phase namely Indian National Chemistry Olympiad (INCO) will be conducted by HBCSE, Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education, through which 35 students will be selected from the best of 373. Phase III and IV phase orientation camp and pre-departure camp will also be organized by HBCSE situated at Mumbai. There will be finally 6 students shortlisted after 3^rd phase who will represent India in the final stage of the prestigious International Chemistry Olympiad to be held in Thailand in 2017.
