Adding one moré feather to its cap, Dhyey Sankalp Gandhi, a student of class 10th at ALLEN Kota has been selected for the final round of International Chemistry Olympiad.
Dhyey Sankalp Gandhi, a class 10th student at ALLEN’s Pre Nurture & Career Foundation Division, has been successfully selected in the team of 4 students to represent India in the final round of 49th International Chemistry Olympiad and is now gearing up to win the Gold Medal for his country. Not only this, but he has also been the highest scorer in all three levels of the competition and has bagged AIR in NSEC, INChO and OCSC. “Where, generally students from classes 11th and 12th participate in this examination, Dhyey bagging the top position, leaving the senior students behind, is a proud moment for the Institute” says Sh. IChO is conducted in 5 rounds
Homi Bhabha Center for Science Education based at Mumbai, conducts a tough National Level Chemistry Olympiad (National Standard Examination in Chemistry) in which this year 30,000 students from classes 11th and 12th appeared for the written test, Dhyey being the only student from class 10th, where 373 students were selected for the 2nd round which is also known as Indian National Chemistry Olympiad. Out of these 373, only 36 students were selected for the orientation cum selection camp. After 10 days of lectures, only 4 students were selected to represent our country for the International Chemistry Olympiad. Before leaving the country for the final round, these students will also attend a Pre Departure Training Camp (PDT).
Previously, in the 48th International Chemistry Olympiad held in 2016, ALLEN’s Sharvik Mittal bagged Silver Medal for India.
Desire to pursue research
Despite of being just in Class 10th, Dhyey who has surpassed the students of 11th and 12th aspires to do research. In his own words, “I completed the syllabus of my 10th class beforehand following which I started focusing on Chemistry. With the help of extra studies, I prepared for competing against the senior classes. My goal is to study from MIT (USA) after completing my undergrad from IIT. My family is my support system where my mother Mrs. Manisha Gandhi stays with me at Kota and my Father is a businessman who is in Vadodara along with my grandparents.” Dhyey now wants to bag a Gold Medal for his country.
