Passion: After taking free of cost coaching from ALLEN pursuing his B.tech from IIT Kharagpur
It took Vatsalya Chauhan three years to clear the JEE for securing admission at an IIT. It was only in his second attempt that he could get success. An average student, Chauhan was homesick, anxious, spent sleepless nights amid mounting tension like any other average student preparing for the JEE during his stay in Kota from 2009 to 2012. He came from Khagriya district in Bihar with 75% marks in Class XII from a Hindi medium school. He took his coaching for IIT preparation at ALLEN Career Institute and due to his hard work got scholarship from ALLEN and studied free of cost. With constant hard work, determination and confidence, in JEE 2012 he succeeded by securing AIR-382 and he not only got a seat at IIT-Kharagpur in, but four years later, Chauhan now has been offered one of the highest international remuneration of Rs 1.20 crore by his dream company Microsoft. His remuneration is among the highest across all IITs during 2015-16 campus placements. He will join the company in October this year at Redmond in the US. He says he is still in touch with students who are preparing for IITs in Kota via social media. Chauhan believes that he could study in Kota due to scholarships he got from ALLEN Career Institute after Director Sh. Rajesh Maheshwari realized his poor family condition and his passion for studies and gave him free of cost classroom coaching along with hostel facility. Vatsalya says he is lucky as his parents never put pressure on him to clear the exam and the open sessions at ALLEN motivated him a lot. “I strictly follow the time chart and complete all homework the same day. It keeps my mind fresh for the next day,” says Chauhan.
Instead of bad health conditions also achieved Success
Exactly 4 days before the JEE exam, his health was not good then too in high temperature washed his hair and went for the exam. First paper was easy, but due to his heath it got ruined again gained his courage back and appeared for the second exam, which was tougher, but still scored more in that. He was state topper of Bihar and Jharkhand in AIEEE. He even qualified for ISI and IISE, but choosed IIT for his B.tech.
Passion to teach poor children
Final year student Vatsalya said that in his vacations he likes to teach poor students free of cost. At IIT campus also he teaches the children of auto drivers. With four of his IIT’ian friends he is planning to start a different model school at Bihar. In this the IIT students in their vacations will go to the schools for 4 months and will teach the students and rest of the months other teachers will teach them. To the average family students they will charge less and to the poor background students they will provide free of cost schooling. They have a dream to connect Naxalites area with education.
In future have planning for new start-up
At IIT with 3 of his batch mates he has designed a new start-up. Prepared a mini device of coin shaped like “Global lost and found”. A person can wear it like a ring in his finger with the help of his mobile can find their lost things. Due to the interest in the field of research he wants to do something innovative after joining Redmond.
