Kota| In a career guidance seminar organized by Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) for ALLEN students on Sunday, it’s Admission Director was quoted saying, “Excitement has increased amongst lakhs of engineering students in India because of the recent announcements made by Prime Minister for encouraging start-ups in the country. Even the USA students want to study in India due to quality education in engineering. This year 79 US students have applied for admission in VIT. Currently, in VIT 20 UG and 29 PG courses are running for engineering and management students. Furthermore, for preparing the students for higher education, a separate course for soft skill development is being started at VIT.”
He further added that they have a special linguistic lab and modern computer laboratory facilitating e-learning in university smart classes. To encourage start-ups Technology Business Initiative (TBI) has been started. Students of 60 countries from all over the world are studying at Vellore and Chennai campus of the university. In both the campuses 80% students are from northern India. The University has 19 boys and 7 girls’ hostels in its campus. More than 2 lakh students give VIT entrance test every year. With the placement trend changing in engineering, a VIT B. tech. student gets an offer from 4 companies for his placement.
With this, he is having an opportunity to work in a choice of his company.
Focusing on Project based learning
In a new session at VIT now the new projects will be taken from top industries. With starting of project based learning, for each course students will be trained for acquiring perfect management skills along with perfecting their course curriculum. Due to credit based system in UG course, they can participate in other activities as well. In the Session 2015-16, 7947 graduates got commendable placement offers. This is a national record in itself. VIT University has MOU with 175 leading Universities from around the world.
Online registrations till 29 February
Online VIT Engineering Entrance Test (VIT-EEE 2016) at 120 centers along with Kota will be conducted on 6 to 17 April 2016. For this, the students can apply online on www.vit.ac.in till 29 February 2016. ALLEN Director Sh. Naveen Maheshwari told that with the help of career guidance seminar JEE Main and Advanced students are being informed about the leading universities of the country.
