LATEST UPDATE:
The Supreme Court will be announcing the much-awaited verdict on whether the Central Board of Secondary Education will be conducting the pending class 12 exams. The announcement of the CBSE exams will also impact the admission process of all central universities and the national entrance exams, including JEE Main and NEET 2020.
The CBSE on March 18 decided to postpone the remaining class 12 board exams so as to protect students from coronavirus. Subsequently, in the last week of May, the CBSE had announced the dates of the exams to be conducted from July 1 to July 15.
Because the coronavirus cases have been consistently rising, parents started an online campaign on Twitter requesting the government not to call students to take the exam.
If the exams are cancelled, then the result will be declared based on an alternative assessment system. Out of 40-odd subjects, pending exams were being held only for 29 subjects.
Apart from Class 12, CBSE Officials are likely to cancel the pending Class 10 Board Exams for students from North East Delhi and instead promote students to next grade based on an internal assessment or based on pre-board exams.
