CBSE submits evaluation criteria for Class 12 before Supreme Court, results to be out by July 31
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) announces the assessment plan for Class 12 exams. Earlier, CBSE canceled the Class 12 board exams due to the surge of COVID-19 in the country.
The court had given two weeks to the CBSE to submit evaluation criteria for Class 12 students. Accordingly, the Central Board of Secondary Education has submitted its evaluation criteria for Class 12 exams before the Supreme Court.
The results will be decided based on performance in Class 10, Class 11, and Class 12. While 30 percent weightage will be given to students’ performance in Class 10 and 11, their class 12 performance will carry a weightage of 40 percent. The marks in the theory section will be calculated based on student’s performance in one or more unit tests or mid-term or pre-board theory exams. Marks given by schools for practicals will be added to it. Schools have been given deadline to submit practical marks to CBSE. The final result will be announced by July 31.
The Class 12 exams were scheduled to be conducted in May-June and were postponed because of the second wave of the pandemic. The CBSE had already canceled class 10 board exams and announced an alternative marking policy.
