Central Board of Secondary Education, CBSE has released FAQs or Frequently Asked Questions regarding the pending CBSE Class 10 and 12 board exams 2020. The examination for Class 10 and 12 will be conducted from July 1 to 15. To ensure that students and parents are not confused regarding the same, the board has released the FAQs.
CBSE has issued a document containing 23 important frequently asked questions with answers on its official website cbse.nic.in
These are the questions that are mostly asked by students and parents. In the FAQs, the board has also briefed how the students can change their examination centre. Apart from this, information about the helpline number has also been given.
CBSE REQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS O N NOTIFICATION DATED 02.06.2020
Q.1 : Because of the prevailing condition of spread of COVID-19 pandemic in the country, special efforts are required for conducting examinations in a safe manner. As a number of students have shifted from the district of their school to some other district in the country, what efforts have made by the CBSE to address the issue of safe conduct of remaining examinations?
Ans: CBSE has decided to address the issue of safe conduct of forthcoming examination by taking following two decisions: 1. Examinations would now be conducted in the respective schools of the candidates instead of the examination centre already allotted. 2. CBSE will allow change of examination centre in respect of candidates who have shifted and are residing in some other district in the country than the place of their school.
Q.2. What is the eligibility for making request for change of examination centre for regular candidates?
Ans: Following category of regular candidates who have shifted from their district of school to some other district in India will be eligible to make request for change of examination centre:
i) Students who were residing in hostels
ii) Students sponsored by State Governments
iii) Students who have shifted from the district of their school to some other district within India
Q.3. What is the eligibility for making request for change of examination centre for private candidates?
Ans: Private candidates who have shifted from their district of examination centre to some other district in India can also make a request to change their examination centre.
Q.4. What are the important conditions for change of examination centre which need to be kept in mind by the students?
Ans: Important conditions are as follows:-
- Change of centre in the same district will not be allowed.
- NCT of Delhi will be considered as one district for this purpose hence change of examination centre from one district of Delhi to another district of Delhi will not be permitted.
- Change of examination centre will be allowed only in the district in which the applicant has shifted to, and in which CBSE is having affiliated schools. Provided, in case, a student is presently
staying in a district in which there is no CBSE affiliated school, an examination centre in neighbouring district will be allotted. - In the containment zone, no examination centre will be permitted. In case of schools falling in containment zones as on date, examination centre of the students of these schools will be allotted outside the containment zone.
- Private candidates (2nd chance Compartment, Failures of previous year, Improvement of Performance, Additional subject, Female candidates of NCT of Delhi, Visually Impaired candidates) and Patrachar Vidyalaya candidates who have not shifted from their district of examination centre to any other district in India will be required to appear for the examination from the allotted examination centre from where they have appeared earlier upto 18.3.2020.
- No examination will be conducted for the students studying in CBSE affiliated schools situated outside India(abroad) because of restrictions imposed by their Governments. Their result will be declared as per the assessment scheme to be decided by the Board.
- Result in respect of the subjects whose examinations will not be conducted by the Board will also be declared as per assessment scheme to be decided by the Board.
- In case children with special needs availing the facility of scribe do not wish to appear in the forthcoming examination because of noncompliance of social distancing norms, their result will be declared as per the assessment scheme to be decided by the Board.
- Last date of any activity will not be changed under any circumstances.
- Once option is exercised by candidate/school for change of examination centre, no change will be allowed thereafter.
- No request for re-conduct of examination will be entertained.
Q.5. How regular candidates can make a request to change the examination centre?
Ans: Following is the way to make a request for change in examination centre:-
- CBSE will accept requests of candidates for change of examination centre only through their
- It will be the responsibility of the School to contact their students to know whether they have shifted to some other district and would like to avail the facility of changing the examination centre to their present district of stay in India, and thereafter, to provide the information to CBSE.
- Schools will use e-Pariksha portal on CBSE website for providing desired information.
- Request in any other mode will not be entertained by the Board.
- School will process the genuine requests made by their students and will recommend to the CBSE for change of district for appearing in the examinations as per rule.
- School will ensure that all requests received from their students regarding change in district for appearing in the examinations are uploaded on e-Pariksha portal correctly.
- All requests will have to be uploaded on e-Pariksha portal only in one lot by the school.
- Link will be closed after submission and it will not be opened again.
- It will also be the responsibility of the students to inform their own school about the fact that they have shifted from the district of their school to some other district in India and intend to appear in the examination from their present district of stay.
- Students who have shifted to districts in which there is no CBSE affiliated school and intend to change the examination centre, will have to identify neighbouring district suitable to them and inform the same to their own school.
- No request for change of examination centre should be sent to CBSE directly by the candidates. Such requests will not be entertained.
- Students who may have requested CBSE to change their examination centre will have to make a request to their own school.
- CBSE will communicate to the schools about its decision regarding change of district in the form of Permission Letter, for onward communication to the candidate concerned. Students can also check the location of the examination centre using a Mobile app.
- Candidates shall have to carry a print out of Permission Letter while going to appear for the examination alongwith their old Admit Card and School identity card.
Q.6. We have earlier requested CBSE to change the examination centre. Are we supposed to request again?
Ans:
• Students who may have requested CBSE to change their examination centre will have to make a request to their own school.
• No request for change of examination centre should be sent to CBSE directly by the candidates. Such requests will not be entertained.
Q.7. In which district, there is no CBSE affiliated school?
Ans: There are no CBSE affiliated schools in the following districts:

Q.8 Who are private candidates?
Ans: Following category of students as per examination Bye-Laws are known as private candidates for the purpose of examinations:-
- Candidates appearing for 2nd chance Compartment,
- Failures of previous year,
- Improvement of Performance,
- Additional subject,
- Female candidates of NCT of Delhi,
- Visually Impaired candidates appearing as private candidates and
- Patrachar Vidyalaya candidates of Delhi
Q.9 Candidates who were studying in India and have shifted from India to some other country, how would they be appearing in examination?
Ans:
- Candidates who were studying in India and have shifted to other countries, if they so desire, can appear from any district of
- These candidates will also make a request to their own
- No examination in other countries will be conducted by CBSE for such candidates.
Q. 10. Will the Examination Centre be allotted at the school located in same District HQ, if it a candidate wants, instead of own school?
Ans: No. In the same district, no change of Examination Centre is permitted.
Q. 11. A candidate who is presently staying in the district which is other than the district of school in which he/she was studying, where will he/she be allowed to appear in the remaining examinations?
Ans:
- Candidate can appear from his own school or
- If candidate wish to appear from the district where he is residing presently can also appear in the examination from the same district.
Q. 12. What is the Nodal Examination Centre?
Ans: In each district, where CBSE is having affiliated schools, one school will be fixed as a nodal examination centre for the candidates who have shifted from their earlier district of examination centre to another district in India.
Q. 13. A candidate who was studying in foreign country and now he/she is in India. Will he/she be allowed to appear in the forthcoming examinations to be held w.e.f. 1st July, 2020 to 15th July, 2020 in the Nodal Examination Centre located nearby his current staying place in India?
Ans: NO, The examinations of all the candidates who were studying in foreign schools will not be conducted as intimated earlier too.
However, result in respect of the subjects whose examinations will not be conducted by the Board will also be declared as per assessment scheme to be decided by the Board.
Q. 14: Will a private candidate be allowed to take the Examination in the Examination Centre located nearby his/her current staying place, in case he/she is presently staying in the district which is other than the district of his/her earlier allotted Examination Centre?
Ans: Yes. Private candidates can opt examination centre in the current staying district of place.
Q. 15:A candidate belongs to remote area of district but presently staying at district headquarters. Can he/she be allowed to change Examination Centre from remote area to District HQ in the same district?
Ans: No. Examination Centre in the same district will not be changed.
Q. 16. As declared by the Board that Result in respect of the subjects whose examinations will not be conducted by the Board would also be declared as per assessment scheme to be decided by the Board. What is that scheme?
Ans: Scheme is yet to be prepared
Q. 17. What would be the preventive measures to ensure containment of spread of COVID-19 at the examination Centres?
Ans: Directives issued by Government of India and CBSE would be followed by the schools.
Q. 18: How could a candidate know the location of examination centre?
Ans:
- Candidate should personally check the location of the examination centre to avoid delay in reaching to the examination centre on the day of
- Candidates can check the location of their examination centre with the help of Mobile App-‘Examination centre locator of CBSE from 06.2020.
- App is available in Play Store. This App will work only on Android Mobile.
Q. 19. Is there any HELP LINE number to assist the students?
Ans: HELP LINE number is as given below:-

Q. 20. Candidates who were studying in India and have shifted to other countries, if they are not able to appear in the examination from India, how their result will be declared?
Ans: In case, they are unable to come to India, they will inform to their school for informing to concerned Regional Officer. Their result will be declared as per the assessment scheme to be decided by the Board.
Q. 21. Will the facility to change the examination centre be given in 2021 examination also?
Ans: No. This facility has been extended only as one time measure for 2020 examination.
