Covid-19 mayhem continues on the entrance examinations as after postponement of the Indian Olympiads Qualifier (IOQ) Examinations, and now the KVPY-Aptitude Test 2021 examination has been postponed. The KVPY-Aptitude Test 2021 was scheduled to be held on 9 January 2022.
In a notice on the KVPY website, the KVPY organizing authorities have posted a message for the KVPY-Aptitude Test aspirants which says “Due to the emerging unprecedented surge of Covid-19 cases, and the subsequent restrictions and weekend curfew in many states, the KVPY-Aptitude Test 2021 to be held on 9th January 2022, is postponed in the larger interest of the students. Please check KVPY website regularly for further updates”.
Following the consequent closure of educational institutions and travel restrictions announced by the central government and different state governments, the Indian Olympiad Qualifier (IOQ) examinations scheduled in January 2022 have also been postponed.
The Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY) is an ongoing National program of fellowship in Basic Sciences, initiated and funded by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India to attract exceptionally highly motivated students for pursuing basic science courses and research careers in science.
The objective of the KVPY program is to identify students with talent and aptitude for research.
The advertisement for the KVPY Fellowship appears in all the National dailies normally on Technology Day (May 11) and the second Sunday of July every year.
The selection of the students is made from those studying in XI standard to 1st Year of any undergraduate program in Basic Sciences namely B.Sc/B.S./B.Sat./B.Math./Int. M.Sc./M.S. in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology having an aptitude for scientific research.
For receiving a fellowship, both aptitude tests and interview marks are considered. Generous fellowships are provided up to the pre-Ph.D. level to the selected KVPY Fellows.
