Defying all odds Jodharam is all set to become a doctor: His Uncle got him admitted to ALLEN Career Institute

Success is not a destination, but the road that you’re on. Being successful means that you’re working hard and walking towards your destination. You can only live your dream by working hard towards it. Such is a story of Jodharam, resident of Dadavas, Barmer who succeeded in NEET UG 2019 examination.

Seeing his financial condition, initially, Jodharam made his mind to become a labourer. He was all set to go to Mumbai, but his teachers motivated him for the NEET exam. After giving the exam four times, he finally achieved success in the fifth attempt. Jodharam secured AIR-3886 and 1209 Rank in OBC category with support of ALLEN Career Institute.

Jodharam is a resident of Gudamalani, a town and Tehsil within the Barmer district. There are about 400 houses in the village of Dadavas. He is the first in his village to become a doctor.  Jodharaam said that most of the youth in his village and the surrounding areas migrate to other states to work as a labourer after class 10th. This is due to lack of awareness.

After completing MBBS, he wants to help the talented students of his village and support them in their studies.

Parents are NREGA Worker

Jodharam’s family is financially weak. They have about 6 bigha of the land but due to drought, there is not enough harvest. There is cumin or millet cultivation with which the family needs are fulfilled.
Jodharam has two sisters and one elder brother. Brother was good in studies but due to weak financial conditions, he could not study beyond Class 8th. Father Narigaram and mother Sugani Devi are uneducated and work as NREGA labourers. Their house is not well constructed.

Jodharam studied in a government school and secured 64 per cent in Class 10th. Seeing the financial condition he decided to work as a labourer in Mumbai. But his uncle supported him and helped him to study up to Class 12th.
