Dominance of 217 ALLEN Students in KVPY

The final result of Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY 2015), which was conducted by the Department of Science and Technology has been declared and 217 students of ALLEN Career Institute created a national record to earn the prestigious fellowship.

Shri Brajesh Maheshwari, Director of ALLEN said that Indian Institute of science (IISc), Bengaluru after aptitude test and interview has released the Students’ All India Merit List. 4 students from the institute positioned in the top 10 rank. Sanjay Shah (AIR-6), Utkarsh Anand (AIR-7), Bhavesh Dhingra (AIR -10) and Ujjawal Gauri (Reserved Category, AIR-5) of class 12th got selected for fellowship. In Top-100 merit, 32 ALLEN students of 11th and 12th class succeeded. From ALLEN’s Kota, Jaipur, Indore, Chandigarh, Ahmedabad and Bengaluru center, overall 218 students of class 11th and 12th has been selected for KVPY Fellowship.

He further added that from unreserved category total 815 students of class 11th (SA Group) and 1426 Students of class 12th (SX Group) has been selected for KVPY-2015 fellowship across the country. Weightage of 75% to aptitude test and 25% to interview has been given, on the basis of which students of science maths and biology for national level KVPY fellowship have been selected. The objective of KVPY exam is to encourage students for research in basic science and is for the students of three groups- SA, SX & SB. Selected students will be eligible for admission in IISC Bengaluru, IISIR, or IIIT Hyderabad.

Fellowship will be given for research

Department of Science and Technology provide fellowship in basic science course after class 12th to the selected KVPY fellows doing B.Sc./B.S./B.Stat./B.Math./Int. M.Sc./M.S. up to the pre-Phd Level. Monthly fellowship of Rs 5000 and Annual Contingency Grant of Rs 20000 are given to undergraduate students. While, monthly fellowship of Rs 7000 and Annual Contingency Grant of Rs 28000 are given to PG level students.
