TIPS & TRICKS ON HOW TO SCORE WELL IN PHYSICS CLASS 12 TERM-II

GUIDANCE TO SCORE WELL IN PHYSICS CLASS 12 TERM-II SESSION (2021-22)

As the CBSE Class 12 Term-II examinations are approaching near, there must be several questions in the students’ minds for scoring high in the Class 12 Term-II Physics paper. The Exam paper for Class 12th Physics will be held on 20th May.

Vivek Taparia Sir, Senior Faculty, Physics, ALLEN shares Tips & Tricks for cracking Physics paper.

AWARENESS ABOUT SYLLABUS AND CONCEPTS

Students must be well aware of the syllabus for session 2022, its deleted portion, the pattern of the sample paper, blueprint typology of questions (category wise analysis), chapter-wise important derivations, concepts, diagrams, and graphs. Accordingly, you have to plan a strategy to attempt the paper keeping in mind the mistakes done by your seniors and the common misconceptions. All this is discussed in detail in the video made to guide you for exam preparation. Its available on ALLEN’s website allen.ac.in (link: https://youtu.be/hoYiNSn7y7g

SHIFT IN THE ANSWERING PATTERN

Students! As we go through the sample paper, we observe a shift in the answering pattern this year, which means you have to provide descriptive answers this time. The sequence of writing the answers should be in such a manner that you should get confidence in the first 4 questions, and this confidence will make you answer the next 4 questions worth getting full marks. The inertia gained through these eight questions will help you in answering the tough ones in the end. So, you must attempt question number 12 with MCQ at first, then the 3 questions- 1 of 2 marks and 2 of 3 marks in which you will get an internal choice.

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR ATTEMPTING THE EXAM PAPER

Related to representation: [Subjective Pattern]

  • In the graph, the student should mention the quantities taken on X-axis and Y-axis along with their unit. [Most of the students draw the pattern only and expect full marks].
  • Students should develop the habit of writing the unit with the numerical value in the final answer. [missing unit causes deduction of marks].
  • In electric circuits, if it is a dc circuit, then the direction of the current must be clearly mentioned in it. But if it is an ac circuit, then there should be no indication of direction.
  • In a ray diagram arrow should be marked showing the direction of the ray.

Direction based ambiguity: [Certain points should be remembered]

  • Sign convention in optics is applied while obtaining that formula and again while using that formula for a particular situation
  • Proper prediction of the direction of a plane progressive wave from its equation.

Special Instructions for Term-2 [Session -2021-22] This year, the time duration is 2 hrs for solving 12 questions only, so you must write descriptive answers.

For example – till last year > Q. What is your name?

Ans. Saurabh > you got full marks.

This year > Q. What is your name?

Ans. My name is Saurabh and I am student of XII class. > to get full marks.

  • You must learn how to use trigonometric tables to find direct and inverse values.
  • You must write the why part [justification] along with the answer, whether it is asked in the question or not.
  • In case- study based question no. 12, you should write the explanation along with the MCQ answer.
  • Get ready for one numerical with a lengthy calculation.
  • You must prepare ray diagrams of the telescope and microscope in both adjustments (near point & normal).
  • Graphs will be asked from the dual nature of matter and radiation.
