IIIT Kota Gets Its New Campus in Kota, Classes From August

IIIT Kota Was Run in MNIT Jaipur Since Year 2013 Due To Lack Of campus in Kota

After wait of almost a decade, the education city Kota has finally got the Indian Institute of Information Technology Kota’s new campus in Kota where classes would start from August session. Till now the IIIT Kota classes were run in Malviya National Institute of Technology (MNIT), Jaipur. A total of 6 batches of IIIT-Kota have passed out from MNIT Jaipur campus so far.

IIIT New Campus Established in Kota

Union government had announced formation of IIIT Kota in the year 2011 after which the IIIT Kota classes were started at MNIT Jaipur from the year 2013 due to lack of its campus in Kota. Now the new campus of IIIT has been constructed in around 100 acres of land in Ranpur with the expenditure of Rs. 102 Crores.

Under the first phase, the Academic block, admin block classrooms, laboratories, hostels and dining hall of the Indian Institute of Information Technology Kota have been constructed at the IIIT Kota campus.

Admission Process To Start From 11 August

The classes of IIIT Kota will start at its newly constructed campus in Kota from the August session. The admission process at IIIT Kota will start from 11th August. Although presently only classes of 1st year and 2nd year students of B.Tech. will be held at IIIT Kota while the classes of 3rd and 4th year of B.Tech. and M.Tech. and Ph.d. will continue at MNIT Jaipur.

Admission to IIIT Kota will be given through JEE Main examination ranks. Last year, admissions were given on 214 B.Tech. seats including 143 seats of B.Tech. course in Computer science and engineering (CSE) and 71 seats of Electronics and communication engineering branch. Admissions were also given on 54 seats of M.Tech course including 27 seats of CSE and 27 seats of Electronics and communication engineering branch.
