IIT-NIT Joint Counseling 2022: More than 50k students attended JoSAA counseling than last year

1st mock seat allotment released, a total of 1 lakh 81 thousand 914 students have filled their choices till September 17.

Joint counseling is being conducted by JoSAA for more than 54,000 seats in colleges including 112 IITs and NITs in the country. Students can fill the choices of online registration and college branches till 5 pm on 21st September. The first mock seat allocation for the Joint Seat Counseling has been released on Sunday.

1 lakh 81 thousand 914 students filled the choice

Amit Ahuja, career counseling expert of Allen Career Institute said that in the first mock seat allocation issued, a total of 1 lakh 81 thousand 914 students filled 1 crore 51 lakh 50 thousand 746 choices. This year also, seats were allotted from the gender-neutral and female quotas. In the seat allotment, 20 percent of seats have been allotted to girls including the total supernumerary seats. The girls with the back ranks have also been allotted branches in the top IITs. This year 50,000 more students have participated in counseling than last year. In this counseling, students have been given the option to fill the choices of 763 programs of 112 colleges. The formats of the documents related to the category of the students have also been uploaded on the JoSAA website. Students must get all the documents ready during counseling since they will have to upload these documents during online reporting, after the first seat allotment, for which students will get only two to three days’ time. The first round seat allotment of JoSAA counseling will be released on 23rd September.
