The National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET) 2019 will be held on May 5 through offline mode. The applicants who clear NEET are eligible to seek admission to MBBS/BDS courses.

The major concern for many NEET aspirants is how to prepare for NEET exam along class 12 boards. NEET syllabus covers class 12 board syllabus. So the student is prepared well for boards if he/she is preparing for NEET exams. So now students should focus on Class 11 NCERT and revise Class 12 NCERT on a frequent basis.

Here are some subject wise tips for the students

Physics– Students should focus on practising more and more numerical. Revision of formulas and derivations is very important to solve problems. They should practice previous year papers on a daily basis.

Chemistry– Practicing previous year’s NEET question papers will help a student to get an idea about the question pattern. For Physical Chemistry, they should practice more and more numerical. While for Organic and Inorganic chemistry rapid and frequent revision will play an important role to score well.

Biology– For biology, a student should focus on NCERT and solve NCERT based questions which will give them an extra edge.

NCERT books are the best for preparation of NEET exams. Studying from too many books will lead to confusion. NCERT will help to strengthen their basics. NCERT books along with Modules of ALLEN Career Institute will sufficiently cover the NEET Syllabus.

The yearlong preparation will not be useful until and unless you revise and practice on a daily basis. Test series, mock tests and previous year question papers will help the student to understand exam pattern and increase the speed. After the completion of yearlong classes at ALLEN, students need to appear for the Major Tests, at this time students need to practice the questions and have a strategy for revising. They should set daily goals for revision, test series, mock tests and previous year question papers.

Students should also focus on the questions solved during the classes and keep in mind the star marked questions in modules and NCERT by the teachers. Star marked questions of the minor tests are also very important. Students should practice previous 10-15 years question papers, if they face difficulty in solving them then they should go through the theory part ones again. After solving the question papers they should appear for a major test of ALLEN.

On the last day be relaxed and cool. Have faith in your yearlong preparation. While on the last minute pray to almighty and start your exam. During the examination firstly attempt those sections in which you are most comfortable. Don’t stress over things that you are unable to understand or solve.

Tips to tackle the pre-exam stress

In order to tackle pre-exam stress, students should take good care of their health and take proper sleep. They should take healthy diet. During these days revision becomes extremely important. Go through the subject-wise key points that you’ve prepared during the year. Carefully revise what you’ve learnt during the year. It is recommended to not touch any new topics at this time. Just try strengthening your stronger subject topics. Students should have confidence in their preparation; they should stay happy and positive. Students should communicate regularly with the teachers and parents and also spare at least 30 minutes to rejuvenate themselves.

Tips for the Final Day

Students don’t take proper sleep a night before the exam.; they should take at least 6-7 hours of sleep,  Do not let fear overcome you, believe in yourself and your preparation. Keep your admit card, pen/ pencil ready one day before the exam so that there is no chance of error on the final day. Also, know the location of your exam centre in advance, this will prevent confusion. Students should carefully read the instructions given by the exam conducting body and keep in mind the reporting time. Due to the excitement and stress students tend to forget eating before the exam, do not attempt the exam empty stomach. Taking proper fluid is very important during hot weather.

On the exam day don’t waste your time in solving the calculation based questions again and again. Solve the complete question in one attempt. Time Management is very important, students should make sure that they keep the time limitation in their mind. They should dedicate time for all the sections in advance.

Carefully read the instructions on the question paper. Solve the easy questions first with patience and stay calm. This will build your confidence and will enable you to tackle difficult questions in the second phase easily. Do not waste your time on the questions you are not sure about. Leave the difficult questions instead of unnecessary wasting your time. This will help you perfect your time management and help you attempt all the questions you know. Last but not least fill the OMR sheet carefully.

Negative marking is the most dangerous aspect of the exam

Have self-control, especially in the last half an hour of the exam. If you are not sure about any answer, then it is better to leave that question. The student should avoid guesswork.
