Inspirational Story : Sons of a labourer widow set to become doctors

Kota| Vimala Devi, a resident of Samvari, a village of Pholadi tehsil of Rajasthan’s Jodhpur district is a proud mother today. Her both the sons Chandramohan and Ashok Vishnoi are to become doctors. Elder son Ashok Vishnoi, a student of ALLEN Career Institute had secured AIR-4000 in NEET-2013 and currently, he is doing his internship with the final year in RNT Medical College, Udaipur. Whereas the younger son Chandramohan has secured AIR-2011 in NEET-2018. Both of them fulfilled their mother’s dream and the hard work of their mother finally paid off.

Their Father Shankarlal, a retired army man, passed away in road accident eight years ago. After that Vimala was the only bread earner of the family. She fulfilled their daily expenses through her husband’s pension but it was a great challenge for her to bear the expense of her sons’ education. Chandramohan and Ashok Vishnoi studied in Government School at Pholadi. Vimala Devi worked as a labourer to fulfil the expenses of her family. Both the sons took admission in ALLEN Career Institute. Seeing their talent and financial conditions Chandramohan got a more than half concession in fees. This gave her courage.

Ashok said that in 2013 her mother took a loan for his education. Today, after five years, the loan is still unpaid. Then, in 2017 she again took a loan for Chandramohan, so that he can come to Kota. She worked as NREGA labourer for some time, but she was unable to continue it due to her poor health. With the help of her Husband’s pension and wages, she is trying to repay the loans. They have land for farming but the cultivation depends on rains.

Will be the first one from the village to become a doctor

Both brothers believe that their success is the result of the sacrifice and hard work of their mother. Ashok Vishnoi is currently, doing his internship with the final year in RNT Medical College, Udaipur. Whereas, Chandramohan will be pursuing his studies from Bikaner Medical College. Vimala Devi told that she took the loan for both the sons and today the elder one is a doctor and the younger son will be a doctor after five years. She will proudly be recognised by her sons’ name, this is the greatest happiness for her.

ALLEN Career Institute is continuously trying to help such students who are talented and deprived of opportunities. When these children of villages become doctors and engineers, not only the family but entire village gets uplifted. The other children of the village gets inspiration and courage to fulfil their dreams, says Sh. Naveen Maheshwari, Director of Allen Career Institute.
