JEE Advanced 2017 Paper Analysis by ALLEN Career Institute’s Expert Faculties

JEE-Advanced 2017, the country’s most prestigious engineering entrance exam, was held on Sunday in 120 cities of the country. This examination was conducted by IIT Madras this year, which took place in two shifts between 9 am to 12 am and 2 pm to 5 pm.

According to Sh. Brajesh Maheshwari, Director, Allen Career Institute, the level of the examination taken for admission in IIT, the best engineering institute in the country, was in line with the name of the examination. The questions of chemistry were confusing and highly conceptual in the paper. The language of many questions was presented in such a way in both the first and the second paper forced the students to think. Whereas, there were average level of questions in physics and mathematics. In Physics the two questions were unclear and there was a question wrong in Maths, might be whose bonus point will be given. There is a possibility of two answers to a question of Molecular Arbitital Theory in In-Organic Chemistry in Paper I.

In both of the shift, the number of questions in the paper remained the same. 18 questions from physics, 18 from chemistry and 18 from Maths were asked in each paper. Both the papers were of 54 questions each. The total marks of both the papers were 366. Three kinds of question were asked in the examination, including single correct answer, multiple correct answer and single digit (Numerical). In the first paper, chemistry was difficult and the level of physics and Maths were average. In the second paper, the level of physics was a bit difficult. Maths was average in second paper also.

The examination was conducted in 10 cities of Rajasthan. 10 cities include Ajmer, Alwar, Bhilwara, Bikaner, Jaipur, Jodhpur, Pilani, Sikar, Tonk and Udaipur. Last year examination centers were held in Barmer and Pali, this year in place of these cities, examination centers were set up in Pilani and Bikaner. This year around 39 thousand students from Kota Coaching gave the JEE-Advanced examination.
