The JEE-Mains examination was conducted in two shifts on Wednesday via computer-based mode. Brijesh Maheshwari, the director of Allen Career Institute, said that based on the feedback received by the students on Allen’s CSAT app, JEE Main’s paper conducted on the 8th of January 2020 was somewhat difficult. The chemistry paper was tougher in the morning shift when compared to the evening shift. While the Maths paper was lengthy in both the shifts moreover the students felt that the time period was insufficient to complete the maths paper. Similarly, the Physics paper was tough in the first half while in the second half it was somewhat easier. The papers were entirely based on the NCERT syllabus. Questions from both 11th as well as 12th-grade syllabus were included, but the number of difficult questions was more from the 12th class syllabus. According to the feedback received from the students, this time the technical problems were much lesser than last year.
Conceptual and informative questions were thoroughly asked in the paper. Calculations had to be done more in the questions of physical chemistry because the given atomic weight of the elements was provided in decimals. In all the papers of Chemistry so far, most questions have been asked from Biomolecules, Chemistry in Everyday Life and Coordination Chemistry. Questions were asked from Environmental Chemistry were asked in the morning shift and were asked not asked in the evening shift. Some questions in the Chemistry paper were directly from the NCERT.

Physics paper was moderate in the morning shift and easy in the evening shift. One of the questions from unit dimensions did not have the correct answer in the given options. In such a situation, many students chose the nearest option as the correct answer, whereas many students did not attempt the question.
Just like Tuesday the mathematics paper on Wednesday was tough. Due to too many calculations, the paper was lengthy. The students felt that the time given for the paper was not enough. According to the students, the mathematics subject took the maximum time in both the shifts. The questions of algebra were somewhat difficult. While the questions from calculus and the applications of derivatives were good.
