JEE Main 2021 Latest Update: exam dates for the 3rd and 4th session released. Know more details

Union Education Minister Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank has announced the dates for JEE Main 2021 pending exams. The third session of JEE Main will be conducted between July 20 and 25, and the fourth session will be held from July 27 till August 2 this year. The JEE Main 2021 application window for the third session will be opened tonight, and the last date to register is July 8. For the fourth and final session, the registration window will be reopened from July 9 to July 12.

A candidate can apply for one session or more than one session together and pay the exam fee accordingly. In other words, if a candidate wishes to apply only for one session, he/she has to pay the Examination Fee only for that session during the application period.

The candidates who have applied earlier for April/May Session can modify their particulars (Session, Category, Subject, etc.) during the period from 6 to July 8, 2021, for (postponed) April Session and 9 to July 12, 2021, for (postponed) May. Due to limited time, there will be no correction window available after the Application closes on July 8, 2021, for the (postponed) April Session and July 12 2021 for the (postponed) May Session. Therefore the candidates have to be extremely careful. Candidates can change their exam centers for third and fourth session. They can also withdraw from (postponed) April/May sessions by following the procedure detailed in the Application.

The number of cities has also been increased from 232 to 334 to ensure Covid-19 safety procedures. The number of examination centres in every shift will also be increased from 660 to 828. All related latest COVID-19 guidelines and protocols will be followed at all examination centers.

In addition, the following measures will be taken by the NTA –

  • Face masks will be provided to all the candidates.
  • The common places, furniture & fixtures, all the computers and seats will be sanitized before and after the exams. Any computer set used in one shift will not be used in the next shift.
  • To avoid the crowd at the examination center entrance due to candidates reaching together, they will be given staggered time slots for reporting. The staggering of time slots will be done to ensure uniform distribution of candidates across rooms during entry at the examination centers.
  • The registration process at the examination will be contactless.
  • Candidates will be guided to their allocated seats ensuring that social distancing is maintained.
  • The examinations rooms, halls where the examination will be conducted will have open windows and fans for proper air circulation.
  • All the candidates who are appearing in the examination centre would be seated following social distancing norms.
