Secretary, Ministry of Education, Amit Khare shared on the same, “States have their own education Boards which conduct their exams between February and March. Due to the COVID-19 situation, Boards may reschedule their calendar. This is for the benefit of the students so that they get ample opportunity as per the convenience. Praising this move by the Ministry of Education, Prof Abhay Karandikar, Director, IIT-Kanpur, shared, “Conducting it four times is a good move. NTA conducted exams successfully even during Covid times and the agency has the capability to meet the challenges. This will ensure a fair opportunity and much greater flexibility to the candidates.”
Many have praised the decision of conducting the exam in 12 languages. National Testing Agency (NTA) also stated that out of 2.2 lakh candidates who qualified for the JEE (Advanced), a total of 8,754 candidates happened to be from vernacular medium.
And this is why NTA believes that offering the JEE test in vernacular languages will prove more helpful for the candidates in improving their rankings.
