JEE Main 2022 – Know about the tentative marks eligibility for seeking admission to NIT/IIIT

JEE-Main first attempt result declared

JEE Main 2022 Session 1 is expected to be released soon after which aspirants will be able to know their eligibility for taking admission to the NIT, IIIT and other government-funded central engineering institutions. Here is a tentative estimation of the available NIT, IIIT, and other engineering institutions as per the marks range.

Know admission to which NIT and IIIT will be available on which marks range

The difficulty level varies slightly in each session of JEE-Main. In such a situation, the chances of the students getting admission in NIT and IIIT can be understood on the basis of marks range.

Amit Ahuja, career counseling expert, Allen Career Institute, said that the JEE-Main exam is 300 marks, if a student gets marks between 240 to 280 then he can have a chance of getting Computer Science in top NITs including NIT Trichy, Warangal, and Surathkal. If students get 220 to 240 marks then the student can get core branches, except the Computer Science (CS) branch, in the top three NITs while the student can get CS in NIT Allahabad, Jaipur, Calicut, Rourkela, and IIIT Allahabad. On the other hand, if the student scores 180 to 220 marks, then along with other branches of the 7 NITs in Trichy, Warangal, Surathkal, Jaipur, Calicut, Allahabad, and Rourkela, the student can get CS and core branches of NIT of Bhopal, Kurukshetra, Surat, Nagpur, and Delhi. Students scoring between 180 to 200 marks can also seek admission to core branches of IIIT in Jabalpur, Gwalior, Lucknow, and Guwahati.

Students scoring between 150 to 180 marks can get admission in other branches of NIT in Bhopal, Kurukshetra, Surat, Nagpur, and Delhi and core branches of NIT in Jalandhar, Hamirpur, Durgapur, Jamshedpur, Shibpur, Patna, Raipur, Goa, Silchar and IIIT of Vadodara, Pune, Sonipat, Surat, Nagpur, Bhopal, Trichy, Raichur, Kanchipuram, Ranchi, Dharwad, Agartala, and Kalyani.

While those students who will get 130 to 150 marks can get admission in the core branches of all the above-mentioned NITs including NIT Trichy, Warangal, Surathkal, Allahabad, Jaipur, Calicut, Rourkela, Bhopal, Kurukshetra, Surat, Nagpur, Delhi, Jalandhar, Hamirpur, Durgapur, Jamshedpur, Shibpur, Patna, Raipur, Goa, Silchar, Andhra Pradesh, Srinagar, Uttarakhand, Puducherry, Manipur, Sikkim, Mizoram, Meghalaya, and Nagaland of Northeast India and also in all the other newly formed IIITs.

On getting 100 to 130 marks, there is a possibility of getting admission to the core branch of GFTI. However, the given marks range will also change according to the category and there will remain the possibility of change in the marks range up to 15 to 20 numbers as per change in the difficulty level of the JEE-Main paper.

Result likely to be released soon

The students’ question paper, recorded response, and provisional answer keys have also been released for the first attempt of JEE-Main, which is the country’s largest engineering entrance exam conducted by the National Testing Agency. After this, the students in large numbers challenged provisional answer keys. After the time for challenging the provisional answer, keys is over, the result of the JEE-Main first attempt will be declared soon. JEE Main 2022 results are expected by 8th July.
