JEE Main 2022 Session-2 (27th July, Shift 1 & 2) Question Paper Analysis

The second session of country’s biggest engineering entrance examination for admission to BE-BTech course, JEE Main 2022 (July attempt) was conducted in computer-based mode on Wednesday. It was the third day of JEE Main 2022 Session 2 today. Dr. Brajesh Maheshwari Sir, Director, Allen Career Institute said that the analysis of the paper has been done on the basis of the feedback of the students and the response received on CSAT.

Physics

Physics paper was easy in the morning shift. According to the students, it took them about 40-50 minutes to solve the paper. Questions were asked from almost all the topics. Some questions were asked from Logic Gate, Resolving Power and Earth Magnetism. Other questions were asked from Heat, Mechanics, Electrodynamics and Modern Physics etc. Whereas there were almost no questions from Optics in the paper.

The difficulty level of the paper was moderate in the 2nd innings in which 5 questions were of Statement and Assertion Reasoning type. Most of the questions were from the entire syllabus. In this, questions on communication and transition were asked directly from the JEE Mains syllabus.

Chemistry

The difficulty level of Chemistry paper was moderate in the morning shift. In which about 6-8 questions were asked of statement (1-2) type and 3-4 questions of column matching type. From Physical Chemistry, there were questions from Chemical Kinetics, Surface Chemistry, Ionic Equilibrium, 2-3 questions from Mole Concept, Liquid Solution, Atomic Structure and Solid State. Similarly in inorganic chemistry, questions were asked from d-block, coordination compound, chemical bonding and hydrogen and organic chemistry from polymer, chemistry in every day life, substitution reaction, aromaticity, alcohol and phenol topics.

The paper was easy in the 2nd shift in which about 5-6 questions were of Statement (1-2) type, two questions of Assertion Reasoning and two questions of column matching. Most of the memory based theory questions were easy. Questions from Chemistry in Everyday Life and Environment were asked directly from the NCERT syllabus. In Organic Chemistry, the column of Separation of Aniline and Water was column matching question.

Maths

The difficulty level of Maths paper in the morning shift was moderate to difficult. ALLEN’s mock tests and similar questions from the modules helped the students a lot in solving the paper. Multiple concepts were used in some questions. Almost all the chapters were covered in paper. 65 percent questions came in the paper from class 12th syllabus and 35 percent from 11th syllabus. About 20% questions were difficult and lengthy while 60 percent questions had moderate difficulty level. Maths paper was tougher than Physics and Chemistry.
The level of the paper in the 2nd shift was tough. In terms of difficulty level, Moderate level questions were less. About 20 percent questions were very lengthy and calculative. The number of questions based on multiple concepts was high.
