The JoSAA counseling process is going on in the country for admissions into IIT-NIT. As the admission process is progressing towards the final stages, there is an increasing interest in the students to study. Along with this, students are repeatedly seen visiting the websites of final allotted colleges to see the reporting dates and other information. In view of this, the IITs of the country are planning to start the studies for UG first semester course in online mode. Some IITs have e-mailed in this regard, while others have started issuing notifications.
ALLEN Career Institute’s Career Counseling Expert said that due to the COVID-19 situation, the JoSAA counselling process is being conducted online this year. Meanwhile, after the third round of seat allocation, some IITs have made the first semester studies online and have started informing the students about the same. Students, who have chosen IIT Mumbai through slide and freeze, have been asked via e-mail to start online studies and fill an interactive form. IIT Roorkee has also released information on its website regarding the commencement of online classes from 23 November. Under such a situation, there is a high possibility that this year, the first semester of all IITs can be online for UG course.
ALLEN’s Counseling Expert also shared that the possibility of online reporting for final admission in the allotted IITs for students, who are being allotted IIT seats in JoSAA Counseling, is also increasing. Therefore, students are advised to keep getting timely information from the websites of their allotted colleges. Students, who have chosen their allotted college for freeze and slide option, are advised to contact the allotted college and get information in this regard. Also, those students who have chosen their counseling option as float will have to wait for the last allotted college of the sixth round. The seat allocation for the fourth round will be released on October 30 at 5 pm and reporting can be done by November 1, 5 PM.
