JoSAA Counseling 2025 Final Round Seat Allocation Released

IIT Counseling Admission Process Completed

The seat allocation of the final and Sixth Round of Joint Seat Counseling conducted by JoSAA for 62853 seats in 127 colleges of IIT, NIT, IIIT and GFTI of the country has been released. With the sixth round of seat allocation, the counseling process of IIT has been completed. CSAB counseling for the remaining seats of NIT, IIIT will start from July 30.

Students who will be allotted a seat in any college for the first time in the sixth round will have to report online by 5 pm on July 20, otherwise their allotted seat will be cancelled.

The maximum upgrade has happened in the last and sixth round of JoSAA. In this round, the maximum number of seats left vacant was allotted to IITs.

Final Admission Process of IIT and NIT is Different

ALLEN Career Institute’s Education Expert told that there will be different admission process for final admission in IIT and NIT allotted to students in the sixth round of JoSAA counseling.

Students who have been allotted final IIT seats in the sixth round will have to complete the admission process through physical reporting by getting information about the remaining college fees and necessary documents on the website of the allotted IIT.

The dates of physical reporting of each IIT are also different. Each IIT has updated the Student Fresher Portal on its website for its final admission process, from where students can get complete information about college admission, remaining fees, necessary documents and admission process.

The first semester of IIT will start between 20th July and 18th August, in which most of the old IITs are starting their first semester between 20th and 30th July.

Students will have to Confirm the Seat by Paying Partial Fee

On the contrary, students who have been allotted NIT, IIIT and GFTI will first have to confirm their seats by paying partial admission fee between 23rd and 27th July. Otherwise, their allotted NIT seat will be cancelled.

This partial admission fee has been kept at Rs 45,000 for General, OBC and EWS and Rs 20,000 for SC-ST. After paying the partial admission fee, students will have to obtain information related to the documents required for final admission in the colleges of the allotted NIT system and the remaining college fees from the college websites.
