Final Admission Process in IIT NIT is Different

Kota. Seat allocation for the sixth and final round of JOSAA Counseling 2025 conducted by JoSAA for 62,853 seats in 127 colleges of IIT, NIT, TripleIT and GFTI of the country has been released.

Students who will be allotted any college seat for the first time will have to report online by 5 pm on July 20. Otherwise their seat will be cancelled. This is the last round of counseling for IIT, after this there will be no further round of counseling for IIT.

Boy Ranked AIR 18,979 & Girl Ranked AIR 26,886 Got IIT Seat

Allen Career Institute’s education expert said that according to the data released in the final round of seat allocation, this year the last seat in IIT was allocated to boys from gender neutral pool at AIR 18,979.

This student got the five-year Intradisciplinary Science branch of IIT Dharwad, and due to 20 percent female pool quota among girl students, a girl with rank 26,886 was also allotted the Mining branch of IIT Dhanbad.

Here, the closing rank of boys from gender neutral pool was 13,14,967 in NIT open, 69,257 in IIIT and 4,50,734 in GFTI. In the open female pool, the closing rank of NIT for girls was 10,02,085, of IIIT was 79,764 and of GFTI was 4,18,013.

The Final Admission Process for IIT and NIT is Different

Career counseling expert of Allen Career Institute said that the students who have been allotted IIT after JoSAA counseling will now have to get complete information about the remaining college fees and documents required for admission on the website of the allotted IIT. The reporting dates for admission in IIT are being released on the website of each IIT.

Students are advised to read the information given on the website of the allotted IIT carefully, because each IIT has given different dates for reporting, orientation and starting of classes. Students can complete their registration process by going to the admission link in the information given on the IIT website.

Apart from this, the students allotted NIT-IIIT will first have to deposit the partial admission fee between 23rd and 27th July, which is Rs 45,000 for General, OBC and EWS and Rs 20,000 for SC-ST. Only after paying this partial admission fee, students can take admission in the colleges of NIT system allotted in JoSAA counseling.

Students who are satisfied with their colleges allotted through NIT system will have to complete the admission formalities for final admission in NIT–IIIT. The seat acceptance fee deposited by the students during counseling will be adjusted in the remaining college fees during their admission.
