JoSAA has released the seat allotment of the first round of counselling for 52423 seats in 114 colleges, including IIT-NITs.
Selected students will have to report online by 5 PM on 30 October. During the online reporting, students have to download their provisional seat allotment letter. After this, the students will have to choose Freeze, Float and Slide. The students will have to scan and upload the required documents like Class 10th and 12th mark sheet, class 12th certificate, category related documents, medical certificate, cancelled check and admit card of JEE Main or Advanced.
In the last step, the students have to pay the seat acceptance fees, which can be deposited through Debit Card, Credit Card, Net Banking and SBI Challan. The fee is 35000 for General, EWS, OBC category, 15000 for SC-ST and Physically Handicapped. After depositing the fees, the JoSAA Verification Authority will verify the uploaded documents of the students and confirm the allotted seats,
The students who have filled the choices of NIT colleges in JoSAA counselling will have to upload the scanned Class 12th pass certificate or mark sheet as a state of eligibility proof. Students who have chosen only IITs are not required to provide the State of Eligibility Proof. Students who have not been allotted college in the first round are not required to submit online reporting and seat acceptance fees. They have to wait for further counselling.
In JoSAA counselling this year, girls were allotted 20 per cent seats from the female pool, including super numerical seats. Due to which the back ranking girls also got an opportunity to choose the core branches of the top IIT-NITs as per the college branch preference filled by them.
Students who have filled OBC and EWS category during JEE Main and Advanced application but cannot produce the certificate after 1 April 2021; should submit the undertaking available on the website.
