JoSAA released Category wise Top-20 Percentile Cutoff of Class 12 Boards (for IIT Admission 2019)

The Category Wise Top 20 Percentile Cut Off marks for 2019 Class XII has been issued by Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) 2019 for admissions into Top Indian Institute of Technology. As per the JEE Advanced notification, to be eligible, the aspiring candidate should secure at least 75% aggregate marks (General Category) and 65% aggregate marks (for SC, ST, and PwD candidates) in their Class XII (or equivalent) or they should be in category-wise top 20-percentile in their respective class XII (or equivalent) board examination. For being able to participate in IIT admissions through JEE Advanced 2019, candidates must fulfill either of the two listed criteria.

How is the Top 20 Percentile Cutoff of class 12th Boards for IIT Admission calculated?

Top 20 Percentile for Class 12th is calculated by taking into accounts marks of Top 5 subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Maths, language, and the remaining subject. In case of more than one language, the language with a higher score will be considered.
