LOP to 6 New Medical Colleges, Now 1 Lakh MBBS Seats in the Country

660 Medical Colleges in the Country, Good News for Students Preparing for NEET

There is good news for the aspirants of the medical entrance exam NEET as there are now 1 lakh MBBS seats available for admission through NEET.

1 Lakh MBBS Seats in the Country

Allen Career Institute’s career counseling expert Parijat Mishra said that six new medical colleges have recently been announced in the country.  In these colleges, students will be given admission to 600 seats.  With this, there are now more than one lakh MBBS seats in the country’s medical colleges.  Its update is going on the website of the National Medical Commission where, although, still 654 medical colleges are shown with 99763 MBBS seats.

Six New Medical Colleges Announced

The National Medical Commission has recently issued a Letter of Permission (LOP) to six medical colleges. Two of these six government medical colleges are in Assam and four are in Andhra Pradesh. The National Medical Commission of the Government of India has given a green signal to Kokrajhar and Naugaon Medical Colleges in Assam. Both have 100 seats.  Apart from this, letters of permission have also been issued to Vizianagaram, Nandyal, Rajamahendravaram, and Machilipatnam in Andhra Pradesh. In a day or two, these medical colleges will also be included on the website of NMC. With the addition of these 6 new medical colleges, the number of medical colleges in the country has also increased to 660.

Parijat Mishra said that the issue of LOP means the provision or right of admission to an MBBS seat. Medical colleges in Satna in Madhya Pradesh and Nalbari in Assam are also fully prepared. These medical colleges can also start soon. In such a situation, their letter of permission will also be issued before the NEET UG 2023 exam. New colleges will also start in Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, and Rajasthan.
