Following the cancellation of Class 12 exams by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Tuesday (June 1), Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Shivraj Singh Chouhan has also announced the cancellation of State Board Exams for Class 12.
It is notable that CBSE had taken the decision in a meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The decision of not conducting CBSE board exams for Class 12 came owing to the growing concerns of the second wave of COVID-19.
And now Madhya Pradesh government has followed suit by cancelling the 2021 state board exams in view of students’ health and safety during these tough times. Earlier, the government was pondering over conducting the classroom exams but given the rising number of cases and the concern raised by parents and students alike, the decision was taken to cancel the exams.
Shivraj Singh Chouhan made this news official by sharing the update on his official Twitter account. he shared, “Madhya Pradesh will not hold class 12 board exams this year. The lives of our children are precious, we will think about their careers later. At this time when the country is suffering from the COVID-19 crisis, putting the pressure of board exams on our children is not fair”.
