Sh. Parijat Mishra, Career Counseling Expert of Allen Career Institute, told that in this regard, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has written a letter to Sh. Vineet Joshi (Director General, NTA). In the letter, the Ministry has stated in the context of 10 percent EWS reservation.
There was no option for EWS category at the time of filling up of Application form for the examination also there was no such option in online correction facility which began on Tuesday after NEET UG examination.
Further, the Ministry clarified that the qualifying percentile for EWS category is 50 percentile and hence there is no need to make changes in the online Application Form or providing separate merit list for EWS category. The candidates of EWS category may indicate their category at the time of registration for counselling.
It is also informed that the EWS quota will be provided against the increased seats and the figure of the increased intake shall be known by 31.05.2019 which is the last date for the grant of permission for starting/increase of intake capacity for MBBS courses.
