NMC Defers NExT Exam Till Further Notice

The Decision To Defer The NExT Examination Has Been Taken On The Advice Of The MoHFW

The National Medical Commission (NMC) has postponed the National Exit Test (NExT) exam for final year MBBS students of the 2019 batch today till further orders from Mohfw.

The formal notice from the NMC was released today on the microblogging website Twitter by Dr. Yogender Malik, a member of the NMC Ethics and Medical Registration Board (EMRB).

NMC in an official notice said, “All the stakeholders are hereby informed that the National Exit Test (NEXT) examination is deferred on the advice of the Ministry, dated 11.07.2023, till further directions from the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare”.

The National Exit Test (NExT), a license test, would confirm the medical graduate’s eligibility to register to practise the modern medical system in India.

On June 28, the government published a gazette notice announcing the National Exit Test Regulations 2023 of the National Medical Commission (NMC) for the upcoming NExT Exam.

The National Exit Test Regulations, 2023 PDF, contain instructions on the NExT exam format, the value of the NExT score, eligibility requirements, and other information.
