Taking an important decision in regard to conducting competitive exams like JEE Main, NEET and others in the academic year 2021, the Education Minister, Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’, has asked National Testing Agency (NTA) to make fresh syllabus for the major entrance and competitive exams for the year 2021.
Before taking the call on the final syllabus, NTA is to evaluate the situation across the different states of the country as well as the central school education boards. Along with this, Education Ministry is also said to be launching a campaign to secure views from the stakeholders as to how and when should the board exams be conducted in 2021.
In view of the com;motion caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and various other state boards have already made up their minds to cut down the syllabus of class 10 and 12, at least by 30 percent.
Speaking of the change in syllabus for the competitive exam, the Education Ministry shared, “It was decided that National Testing Agency will come out with the syllabus for competitive examinations after assessment of the existing scenario in various boards. It was also decided that a campaign would be launched by the Education Ministry to seek views from students, parents and teachers on how and when to conduct the exams next year”.
For the uninitiated, NTA had earlier talked of conducting the first session of JEE Main 2021 in the month of February, instead of January. One can expect an official notification concerning the date for JEE Main 2021 very soon. As for the application process for JEE Main 2021, it is likely to start from next month.
As for the NEET 2021 exam, so far there has been no official confirmation. Normally, the exam is held in May but it got delayed this year owing to COVID-19.
Exams are to be conducted for sure and officials will soon release notifications confirming the exact details.
