Career city Kota not just helps shape students future but even ensures that every student who comes here feels like home. Kota’s student centric culture got applause from everywhere when the city did it best to evacuate students amidst COVID – 19.
Students and parents were anxious over the rising cases of COVID-19 in the country. And as the cases started spreading in Kota too, they became more restless; especially the parents. While parents were requesting their kids to be sent back home, lockdown had made it nearly impossible to do so.
Abiding to the lockdown guidelines as well as social distancing, strategic provisions were made for ‘Homecoming’ of students. Following the same, in the past 18 days, around 35000 students of 21 states and 4 central governed states have been sent home through bus and train.
Now that many students have safely reached their respective homes, parents are extremely delighted and their love and gratitude for ALLEN Career institute and Kota can be sensed on social media where ALLEN’s Twitter handles and other social platforms are flooded with thank you messages from parents and students.
Earlier District Collector had announced that trains would run till May 6 to carry Bihar students. Even after sending a large number of Bihar students on Tuesday, still many are left. Considering the same, the trains are now made available till May 10 so that all students can reach back home.
On May 6, 2020 (Wednesday) students of Danapur and Motihari left for their homes. First train departed for Bapudham Motihari railway station east Champaran at 11 AM from platform number 1. Another train will depart for Danapur at 9 PM. So far 8182 students have been sent home through 7 trains.
ALLEN Student Welfare Society provided full support to the students and ensured they had a safe and comfortable journey. From pick-up & drop to station, food packet distribution, thermal scanning, mask distribution, and luggage carrying, ASWS and ALLEN Swachhta Brigade did it best.
While monitoring the ‘Homecoming’ of Bihar students from Kota, ALLEN Career Institute Director, Shri Naveen Maheshwari celebrated his birthday in a unique and inspiring way. He took the opportunity to felicitate the corona warriors. ASWS director Mukesh Saraswat and other members presented gift bags to all corona warriors who helped in the evacuation of students. This included ASWS team members, CPO, ALLEN staff, vigilance team members and ALLEN Swachhta Brigade members.
NEET student from Bihar, Sejal Neha shared how ASWS helped her reach station on time when she and her friend had lost all hopes due to unavailability of any auto. “I had a lot of luggage and was running out of time. My friend Sonali was also with me and seeing no option to commute, I called my father in Bihar who then got in touch with ASWS’ Mukesh Saraswat. Sensing the gravity of situation, the team arranged for a van within 10 minutes and we were dropped to station timely. Had ASWS not helped we would’ve missed the train”.
Aditi Singh, Bihar shared, “I had never thought that we would be facing a thing like lockdown after coming to Kota. But the support by ALLEN and Kota in these times was commendable. We were provided everything at hostel we asked for. Bihar government, Rajasthan government and ALLEN made all possible provisions to send us home. We are thankful for this”.
Shivangi Sinha, Sitamadhi shared, “I’m thankful to Kota and specially ALLEN. We are studying in such a wonderful city that treats us as family. We are going home but ASWS never let us miss our family; they always listened to our requests”.
In the coming days, more students will be sent home with utmost care and safety. We hope our students stay safe and continue their studies through ALLEN Digital Classes, without wasting any time.
