PM Modi Inaugurates AIIMS, IIT in Jammu

In a Major Push, Modi Inauguration Several Education Projects Today

Prime Minister, Narendra Modi inaugurated and laid foundation stone of several projects in the education sector worth about Rs 13,375 crore. Modi inaugurated the ambitious project of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Vijaypur (Samba), Jammu. Foundation stone of AIIMS Jammu was also laid by the Prime Minister, Modi in February 2019, under the Central sector scheme Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana.

Established at a cost of over Rs 1,660 crore and in an area spanning over 227 acres, the hospital is  set to offer comprehensive medical services, with an expected daily footfall of 2000-3000 patients in the outpatient department. Phase-1 will see the establishment of 750 beds,

Including 193 ICU beds catering to trauma care, general care, and super-specialties. AIIMS Jammu plans to encompass approximately 50 departments, encompassing both general and specialized care. The number of Medical Colleges in J&K has increased from 4 to 12 in the last 10 years. Similarly, in the same time period, MBBS seats in J&K has more than doubled from 500 to 1300, said PM.

Inauguration of IITs and IIMs

The Prime Minister inaugurated, dedicated to the nation and laid the foundation stone of several projects worth about Rs 13,375 crores. The Prime Minister dedicated to the nation permanent campus of IIT Bhilai, IIT Tirupati, IISER Tirupati, IIITDM Kurnool; academic and residential complex in IIT Patna and IIT Ropar; two permanent campuses of Central Sanskrit University – at Devprayag (Uttarakhand) and Agartala (Tripura).

The Prime Minister inaugurated permanent campuses of IIM Visakhapatnam, IIM Jammu and IIM Bodh Gaya. He also inaugurated Indian Institute of Skills (IIS) – a pioneer skill training institute on advanced technologies in Kanpur.

Improvement of Infrastructure in IITs, IIITs, NITs

The Prime Minister inaugurated and dedicated to the nation, improved infrastructure like hostels, academic blocs, administrative buildings, libraries, auditoriums etc in multiple higher educational institutes across the country like IIT Jammu, NIT Delhi, IIT Kharagpur, NIT Durgapur, IISER Behrampur, NIT Arunachal Pradesh, IIIT Lucknow, IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, Central University of Kerala Kasaragod, among others.

The Prime Minister laid the foundation stone of multiple projects for upgrading the infrastructure in several higher educational institutes across the country. “New India is spending more and more to provide modern education to its present generation”, said Modi.

Prime Minister inaugurates, inaugurated, and laid the foundation stone for multiple development projects worth over Rs 32,000 crore in Jammu and Kashmir today.
