Family Ran Into Financial Problems, Bank Issued Notice To Attach Her House
If the will is strong, then even the circumstances accept defeat. Prerna Singh, an ALLEN student, experienced a similar journey to success. Her father was an auto driver who wanted to see his daughter become a doctor but passed away from cancer and a silent attack before he could see it happen.
The family’s problems only became worse from that point forward. A financial crisis developed for the family as a result of the departure of the single earner in the home. The inspiration persisted despite this circumstance. After the father’s passing, Prerna’s resolve grew stronger. Prerna has now successfully passed the NEET, enabling her to fulfil her father’s ambition of having a doctor in the family. Since the past two years, Prerna has been a student at ALLEN Career Institute Pvt Ltd.
Prerna’s father Brijraj Singh was an auto driver. Apart from dropping small children to school and bringing them home, he also used to carry other passengers. His four children were all doing well in their academics. He was diagnosed with cancer in the year 2018.
The disease was in the first stage, so the doctors advised an operation. In such a situation, the family took him to Jaipur, where the operation took place on 12 April 2018, which was successful, but he died in the ICU on 15 April following a silent attack. This unexpected accident stunned the entire family.
Prerna was in her tenth standard at the time. Even though her father was ill, she handled herself and passed the 10th class with 81.40 percent marks. The income from driving the autos also stopped due to father’s demise
Prerna told that the father had taken a loan from a private bank for a house in Mahavir Nagar. Whose insurance was also done. After his death, the insurance company refused to pay the claim citing pre-existing illness. Prerna’s mother Maya Kanwar made rounds in the bank and insurance office for many days but her plea was not heard.
Due to non-payment of loan instalment, the bank issued the notice of attachment on her house for recovering the dues. Later, on someone’s advice, the family took refuge in the Consumer Forum. After which the house was saved from being auctioned but the case is still pending in the court.Situation worse in Corona
Prerna’s father had built six separate rooms in the house, which were rented out to cover the household expenses. After the death of the father, the family was fighting a battle to save the house when Corona knocked. The students living on rent went back home. In such a situation, the rent also stopped coming. The house was managed by the widow pension given to Prerna’s mother and some financial help from her maternal grandmother.
Prerna told that we are four brothers and sisters, but father always used to tell me that ‘my doll will Brighten my name one day. About her struggle, Prena told that she was an average student. After her father’s illness, I resolved to become a doctor and was determined to crack NEET by any means.
Prerna told that in the year 2020, I had given the first attempt of NEET alongside passing class 12th with 81.80 percent marks. Didn’t do any special preparation but got 401 marks. I didn’t get a medical college but my confidence definitely got stronger. When I can get 401 marks without coaching and special preparation, then with preparation I will definitely crack NEET. At that time coaching institutes were closed so did self-study and scored 497 marks in NEET 2021.
ALLEN Faculty Kailashchandra Sharma Sir lives near my house. He advised admission in Allen. We were unable to pay the fees but, seeing my hard work, the institute gave 80 percent discount. After this, I got 558 marks in NEET 2022. I was getting dental college on these marks but nothing less than MBBS was accepted. Allen’s support and my hard work paid off. Scored 686 marks out of 720 in NEET 2023. This time I will get AIIMS or BHU. Prerna is now going to become the first doctor in her family. After MBBS, Prerna wants to go into research.
