PSEB Class 12th Board Result 2020 Declared: Here’s Everything You Should Know

Punjab Board has declared the Class 12th board result of the year 2020. The result was declared by Punjab School of Education Board on Tuesday, July 21, 2020 at 11:00 AM. Students can check the result on the official website of the board – pseb.ac.in

It has been reported that of the total number of students who appeared for the Class 12 board exams, 90.98 per cent have cleared the exams.

Similar to the 2019 result, in 2020 also government schools have outshined the private schools with a pass percentage of 94.32; whereas the affiliated schools have a pass percentage of 91.84 and associated schools have 87.04.

For the uninitiated, the board exams were scheduled from March 3 to April 3. However, owing to the pandemic outbreak, the exams were postponed midway.

Looking at the current situation, the board even introduced certain changes in the exam pattern class 12. Students of the science stream got question papers that followed the pattern of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). The major changes were introduced in Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) of ten marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.

Changes in the passing marks were also introduced this year. Earlier, in order to pass, a student was supposed to secure 33 per cent marks in each subject as well as in practical and theory separately. The new passing rule requires a student to secure at least 20 per cent marks in the practical and theory section; 33 per cent combined in each subject so as to pass the exam.

In 2019, more than 2.5 lakh students had appeared for the PSEB class 12 exams where the passing percent of the state was 86.41.
