JEE-Main 2020: 4 lakh 81 thousand students out of a total of 10 lakh 23 thousand students, gave both exams

A total of 10 lakh 23 thousand students appeared in JEE-Main, the country’s largest engineering entrance examination, which took place in January and September for admission to more than 30 thousand seats of 31 NITs, 23 IIITs and 27 GFTIs. Out of which 4 lakh 81 thousand students are those who took both exams.

Career Counseling Expert of Allen Career Institute said that the result of JEE-Main September was released on Friday, September 11, with the All India Rank of JEE-Main. With this, the cutoff was released in 7 decimals for eligibility to take the JEE-Advanced exam on the basis of JEE-Mains. Top 2 lakh 50 thousand students selected on the basis of JEE-Main have been declared eligible to take the JEE-Advanced exam.

In which cutoff 90.3765335 for 1 lakh 1 thousand 250 students of general category, cutoff 70.2435518 for 25 thousand students of EWS category, cutoff 72.8887969 for 67500 students of OBC NCL category, cutoff 50.1760245 for 37500 students of SC category, the cutoff for the 18750 students of ST was 39.0696101.

This was the difference from last year’s cutoff

ALLEN Career Counselor said that when compared to last year, the cutoff of general category has increased slightly; the cutoff of last year was 89.7548849, while this year was slightly higher. The main reason for this can be considered is that this year 12 thousand 675 students have qualified less for general category. While the cut-off of EWS category has been 7.9739351, the main reason for this can be considered is that 15 thousand 200 students in EWS category have over-qualified. With this, the cutoff of OBC category has been reduced to 1.4278588. 1350 more students are qualified in OBC; similarly, SC and ST cutoff has been reduced to 3.842191 and 5.2649071 respectively. 750 and 375 more students are qualified in SC, ST respectively.
