There are 955 Seats of Government Quota in These Medical Colleges
Till now, only the native students of Jammu and Kashmir were eligible to seek admission in the medical colleges of the State but now the admission eligibility norms in the 8 medical colleges of Jammu and Kashmir have changed. Now the students of the entire country can seek admission in the medical colleges of J&K.
The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has finally cleared the air over the eligibility norms for admission in the medical colleges of J&K. Medical education expert, Allen Career Institute Private Limited, Parijat Mishra told that there are 995 seats in the 8 medical colleges of Jammu and Kashmir. “Till now only the students of Jammu and Kashmir were eligible to seek admissions in these 995 seats of the medical colleges of Jammu and Kashmir but now the students of all other states and union territories of the country can also seek admission in these medical colleges”.
The MCC has updated the seat matrix of the medical colleges of Jammu and Kashmir. MCC has also extended the choice filling date. “Out of the total 995 seats of the medical colleges, 15% seats are of All India Quota while 85% seats are of State Quota”.
The maximum number of medical seats in Jammu and Kashmir is in the Jammu medical college where there are 180 seats. Jammu medical college is followed by Sher-e-Kashmir College with 125 seats. Government Medical College Rajouri has 150 seats whereas Government Medical Colleges of Doda, Baramulla, Anantnag, Kathua, and Srinagar have 100-100 seats each.
