Two students from ALLEN Career Institute namely Lakshay Sharma and Vidushi Varshney have been selected to represent India in the 12th International Junior Science Olympiad to be held in South Korea this year. These exceedingly talented students were shortlisted out of the total 35 participants from all over the Nation, to represent India after the Orientation Cum Selection Camp held at Homi Bhabha Center for Science Education, Mumbai, from 18th to 25th May 2015. The results which were announced on Monday, showcased the names of the Nation’s Top 6 students out of which 2 are from ALLEN.
The International and the Final round of the competition will be held from 2nd to 12th December 2015, at Kyungpook National University of South Korea in which the students from across 40 countries are going to participate.
Aim to become a Scientist
ALLEN’s Classroom Coaching student Lakshay Sharma who hails from Lucknow, secured 98% in class 10th Examinations. He was also selected for the Orientation Cum Selection Camp of Astronomy Olympiad but couldn’t go as both the camps were in the same month. Lakshay secured AIR 3 in National Science Olympiad, while he also bagged 3 Gold and 1 Silver Medals in the CMS Mathematics Olympiads. Lakshay has also been an ALLEN Champ and is fond of reading books. He aspires to become a Scientist after cracking IIT-JEE.
On the other hand, Vidushi Varshney, age 14, who has bagged this chance of representing the country internationally, is currently studying in class 10th and is planning to take Biology and Mathematics both in 11th. She also secured All India Rank 1 in TALLENTEX. She aspires to do research in her future.
