The International Youth Day is Celebrated to Commemorate the Contributions of Youth in the Society
The International Youth Day is celebrated on 12 August every year with the motive of celebrating youth, their contributions, their challenges and their issues. The International Youth Day urges for public awareness about the young people who impacts the society in significant way.
The first International Youth Day was celebrated on 12 August 2000 after the World Conference of Ministers Responsible for Youth held at Lisbon, Portugal in 1998 proposed to organize it. Later United Nations General Assembly approved the proposal for observing International Youth Day. Several activities are celebrated across the globe on the International Youth Day.
India – A Young Nation
India is the most populated country in the World with almost 65% young population. Due to the high numbers of youngsters, India is often referred as a country of youngsters. The youngsters of the country show promise for their contribution in the progress and development of the country.
The youth is the future of the country who are making India proud at the global level. There are large numbers of youngsters in the country who have made their mark in different spheres of the life.
Kota – Inspiring Tales of the Youth

Ramchandra Sankhla, Senior Software Engineer, Google
The family of Ramchandra lives in a kutcha house in Sojat, Rajasthan. Father Tejaram Sankhla works as a porter from morning to evening and mother Ramidevi lifts stones daily while working as a construction worker. Their financial condition was never good. Illiterate parents kept working hard for the upbringing of three children.
Parents used to work from 6 am to evening to earn two meals a day. Ramch studied in a government school in Pali in Hindi medium. When he got 70 percent marks in 12th, his father took loan from others to educate him further. In 2009, he took classroom coaching from Allen, Kota.
On getting a supportive environment in Kota, his confidence got awakened. Retired ADJ Ashok Gupta helped him financially. He got rank 1680 in JEE and did B.Tech from IIT Roorkee in 2013.
If your goal is fixed and hard work is done honestly, then it does not take much time for the circumstances to change. I feel as if it was only yesterday that I used to work hard in Kota. The whole family used to work hard for me. Now that I have become successful, I have to take care of my family and society. Vatsalya Chauhan – Senior Software Engineer, Microsoft
Vatsalya, a student from a normal family in Khagaria town of Bihar, studied till 12th through Hindi medium. He got 75% marks in the 12th board examination. When he did not get a good rank in JEE in his first attempt, he accepted the challenge and resolved that he will go to IIT and decide his future path.
Vatsalya likes to study for himself. He is interested in research, so when he got the opportunity, he proved his extraordinary ability. He came to Allen Career Institute and took free coaching with complete hard work for one year.
He got All India Rank-382 in IIT-JEE, 2012 and took admission in B.Tech Computer Science branch in IIT, Kharagpur. After this, he is working as a Senior Software Engineer in Microsoft.
Success is not achieved overnight. We have to study regularly. Whatever the circumstances, we should remain committed to our goal. I got full support from Kota, Allen and family.
