JEE Advanced 2025 Examination will be held on 18 May
JEE Advanced is not just an exam but a goal for every student who has worked hard for years. Success in this exam comes not only from studying but also from understanding, planning and confidence on the exam day.
Although this exam is formally held in May, mental preparation should start a day before. The time a day before the exam is extremely important as this day prepares your mental state for the next day.
-
Admit Card and Important Documents
First of all, download your admit card a day before the exam and take a printout of it. Also keep a valid identity card like Aadhar card or PAN card. Note that photocopies or scanned IDs will not be accepted. Apart from this, keep your transparent water bottle, pen and pencil with you. Rough sheet will be given at the exam centre, but pen will not be provided.
-
Travel and visit to the exam centre
If your exam centre is outside your city, reach that city at least a day before the exam. Make arrangements for hotels near the centre in advance. And make sure to check the exact location of the exam centre a day before. Sometimes the exam centre has several gates, out of which only one gate is open for the exam. It would be better to make it clear from which gate the entry will be allowed.
-
Preparation according to the weather
The weather in the month of May is different in different regions of India – somewhere it is very hot and somewhere it is rainy. So keep essential items like umbrella or raincoat with you so that the weather does not become a hindrance in your preparation.
-
Food and drink plan
On the day of the exam, you have to give the paper in two sessions and the break in between is very short. In such a situation, plan in advance what to eat that day. Light, easily digestible and energy-giving food will be most suitable. It is difficult to arrange lunch at the exam centre, so it would be better to prepare everything and take it from home.
-
Preparation for the first day of the exam
There is no need to do any new studies a day before the exam. Just do light revision, solve some old question papers and keep the mind active. It is important that you do not get stressed and get enough sleep. Lack of sleep can badly affect the performance in the exam.
-
Exam Day Routine
On the day of the exam, wake up early in the morning and have a light breakfast. It is not at all advisable to give the exam on an empty stomach as both the body and the mind need energy. Reach the exam center on time – it is usually advised to reach there by 7 am so that all the procedures can be completed on time.
-
Precautions to be taken at the exam center
On reaching the exam center, the barcode of the admit card will be scanned and your room and seat information will be given. It is important to stay calm to avoid the crowd and chaos. Read the instructions given there carefully and follow them.
-
Question Paper Strategy
Do not panic after the paper starts. Start with those topics first in which you have a strong grip. Follow the same sequence as you did in the mock tests – be it Physics, Chemistry or Maths. If you are facing difficulty in any topic, switch smartly, but avoid switching topics frequently.
-
Selection of questions
It is not necessary to solve every question, but it is very important to choose the right question. First of all, solve only those questions which you understand and which take less time. This increases your confidence and you can solve the other difficult questions in a better way.
-
Rough work and time management
Use the rough sheet in a systematic way. Whatever calculations you do, write them in such a way that if you have to return to the same question at the end of the time, you do not have to start again from the beginning. By doing this, you will save your time and the work you have done earlier will not be wasted.
-
Read the instructions carefully
Many times the pattern of questions and marking scheme changes in the exam. So read all the instructions given carefully before the paper starts. This will help you decide which type of questions to solve first and which later.
-
Mental Control
Keep your mind calm before and during the exam. Take it like a normal test. Remind yourself again and again that you have given many such mock tests and this is also one such test. Maintain a positive attitude and trust your performance.
Final Words
JEE Advanced is not only a test of knowledge but it is also a test of patience, mental strength, and discipline. If you keep all these things in mind and give the exam with a strategy then success will surely kiss your feet. Remember – every big dream is realized only with a calm mind and well-planned effort.
