JEE Advanced 2025 Examination Results will be Declared on 2 June
JEE Advanced 2025 exam is over now. JEE Advanced 2025 result will come on 2 June and then JoSAA counseling will start from 3 June. Every year thousands of students face the same big problem – confusion about the preparation and validity of documents.
If even one of your important documents is missed, then despite having a good rank, college will not be allotted. Therefore, in this blog we are going to tell you that:
- Which documents are required.
- When and how to keep them ready.
- Which documents will be considered valid.

What is JoSAA?
JoSAA i.e. Joint Seat Allocation Authority is a counseling platform that regulates the admission process of the country’s top engineering institutes like:
- IITs
- NITs
- IIITs
- GFTIs
Required List of Documents
1. Passport-size photographs
- Three photos for IITs
- Two photos for NITs, IIITs and GFTIs
2. Photo ID proof
- Example: Aadhaar card, PAN card, voter ID, school ID, driving license, passport, ration card
3. Class 10th mark sheet
- Required to verify date of birth
- Keep the original copy with you
4. Class 12th mark sheet
- If you have recently passed the boards, scan and upload it
- Droppers also need to keep their mark sheets ready
5. Category certificate (if applicable)
- Valid certificate is required for OBC-NCL, EWS, SC/ST students
- Only those OBC and EWS certificates that are recognized by the Central Government (Central List) will be valid
- State certificate is not enough — it needs to be updated
6. PWD certificate (if applicable)
- Physically Required for disabled candidates
- Signature and seal from an authorised government doctor is mandatory
7. Bank account details
- Account details are required for refund
- If you do not have your own account, parents or guardians can use the account
- Scanned copy of cheque or image of first page of bank passbook has to be uploaded
8. Medical certificate
- Should be in the format available on JoSAA website
- Signature and stamp from a government doctor is required on the certificate
9. OCI/PIO card and citizenship certificate (if applicable)
- JEE Main and JEE Advanced score cards
- JEE Main score card for NIT, IIIT, GFTI
- JEE Advanced score card for IIT
Important Tips
- Make soft copies (scanned PDFs) of all documents in advance
- Keep file names clear and consistent (e.g.: “Class12_Marksheet.pdf”)
- Make sure to check the validity date — especially of category and medical certificate
Despite your hard work and rank, if there is any lapse in documentation, then admission can be stopped. That is why preparation of documents is as important as the exam.
