Questions are Never Stupid, Answers can be – Collector’s Message to Students
On the occasion of World Suicide Prevention Day today, a mental health awareness workshop was organized at ALLEN Supth, Naya nohra. The theme for this year 2025 was set as “Change in perception towards suicide” and the call for action was “Start a conversation”. The program was chaired by District Collector, Kota, Peeyush Samariya.
Dialogue and Simplicity are the Keys to Mental Health – Collector Peeyush Samariya
While interacting with the students Collector Peeyush Samariya , said that simplicity and dialogue are the most important means to keep mental health strong. He said that meeting people in a natural way, asking about their well-being, talking about small things lightens the mind and is beneficial for mental health.
While motivating the students, he said that becoming a doctor, engineer is good, but the most important thing for success in life is the inner desire to achieve something. Giving the example of Satya Nadella, he said that even though he could not get admission in IIT, his contribution in the tech sector is unique globally.
The Collector said that adequate sleep is necessary for both goal achievement and mental health. He called upon the students to mingle with their ecosystem, ask questions and move forward with confidence.

Timely Identification and Treatment of Mental Diseases is Necessary – Dr. M.L. Agarwal
Dr. M.L. Agarwal said that there is a lack of awareness about mental health in the society. People suffer from mental diseases due to stress, poor lifestyle or genetic reasons, but due to lack of information, they are unable to get treatment for a long time.
He said that identifying mental diseases and taking timely treatment are key to avoiding serious consequences. It is necessary to remove the stigma prevalent in the society towards psychiatry and consulting a psychiatrist.
Increasing Screen Time and Decreasing Communication is Fatal – Dr. Vinod Dariya
Dr. Vinod Dariya, while highlighting the challenges of the digital age, said that increasing screen time is disturbing the sleep cycle and people are getting more lost in the virtual world due to which they are reducing communication with their loved ones.
Emphasizing on recognizing the signs of suicide, he said that when a person shows indifference towards life or repeatedly talks negatively, then it should be taken seriously and a psychiatrist should be consulted without hesitation.
Communication with Loved Ones is the Basis of Mental Health – Dr. Tushar Jagawat
Dr. Tushar Jagawat, while defining health, said that physical, mental and social wellbeing is complete health. He said that students should talk to their friends and family members for at least 24 minutes every day and share small things. Emphasizing on the concept of “Dare to Share”, he said that sharing everything in life with your loved ones is essential for mental health.
Saurabh said that failure prepares one for success. He explained with the lines of a song and the example of Thomas Edison that defeat opens the way to victory. Quoting the Japanese proverb “Fall seven times, get up the eighth time”, he gave the message to the students to not deter from struggles in life.
Gaurav Sethi advised the students on time management and said that they should divide the 24 hours of the day into systematic parts and work with discipline.
Gaurav Sethi said that it is important to understand the difference between comparison and competition, and one should move towards the goal by relieving stress in a positive manner.
Surabhi Khandelwal said that yoga and meditation are extremely beneficial for stress management. Ranu Parashar from Alakh Foundation gave information about the importance of nutritious and balanced diet for good mental health.
CMHO Dr. Narendra Nagar said that suicide is a serious public health problem, which has far-reaching social, economic and emotional side effects, that is why World Suicide Prevention Day is celebrated every year on 10 September.
The program was organized under the joint aegis of Medical and Health Department, ALLEN and Alakh Foundation and Welfare Society Jaipur. On this occasion, DPM Narendra Nagar, social worker Yagyadutt Hada along with about one thousand students of the institute actively participated in the event.
Special Awareness Campaign for Students
Under the District Mental Health Program, outreach sessions and IEC activities will be organized in schools, colleges and coaching institutes of the district from 10 September to 10 October 2025. Its objective is to give the students an opportunity to communicate openly with teachers and trainers on their studies, career and personal problems.
