Class 10, 12 Board Exams to Start from February 17, 2026
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has finally released the final date sheet for the CBSE Board Exams 2026. After a long wait, students now have complete information about their examination schedule. CBSE has published the final timetable for both Class 10th and 12th on its official website, cbse.gov.in.
According to the CBSE final date sheet,
Exams will be held daily from 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM. Some papers will be of 2 hours duration while some subjects have been allotted 3 hours.
The schedule announced in the tentative date sheet released by CBSE in September 2025 has been retained in the final date sheet as well. This means that there has been no change in the examination schedule.
Students who have not yet downloaded their date sheet can easily view it from the official CBSE website. The process is as follows –
Now that the date sheet has been released, students have the perfect time to organize their preparation better. Success in the CBSE exams comes not just from rote learning, but from smart preparation. Here are some helpful tips:
Prepare a daily study schedule according to your date sheet. Dedicate more time to difficult subjects and regularly revise the easier ones.
Solving the last five years’ CBSE question papers will help you understand the exam pattern and the nature of the questions. This will also boost your confidence.
The CBSE exam is based on NCERT books. Therefore, first understand all the chapters thoroughly and practice the examples.
Revision is most important in the last few weeks. Repeatedly revise the main formulas, definitions, and important dates for each subject.
CBSE releases sample papers every year. Practicing these will help you improve your time management and exam strategy.
Maintaining mental balance during the exam is very important. Get enough sleep, eat a balanced diet, and take short breaks.
CBSE has made several changes to the examination system in the last few years to assess students’ understanding and analytical abilities. In 2026, CBSE will continue to place more emphasis on Competency Based Questions. Approximately 50% of the questions will require students to demonstrate the practical application of their knowledge.
In addition, internal assessment and project work will also be important. Therefore, students should also take their school assessments and assignments seriously.
The CBSE board is India’s largest education board, encompassing thousands of schools both within India and abroad. Its examinations are conducted in a transparent, fair, and systematic manner. The results of the CBSE board exams serve as a basis not only for admission to higher education but also for preparation for various competitive examinations.
This year, more than 3.5 million students are expected to appear for the Class 10th and 12th examinations. CBSE’s rigorous evaluation process ensures that every student receives a fair result.
With the release of the final date sheet for the CBSE Board Exams 2026, the final phase of preparation has now begun. Students are advised to organize their study schedule, focus on NCERT books, and remain mentally calm to perform to their full potential in the exams.
The message from CBSE to all examinees is— “Success belongs to those who prepare with complete dedication.”
